Georgia football: Contributions from multiple players secure win over hapless Mizzou
Georgia football may have beaten Missouri by 37 points, but it felt like they could have beaten them by more.
While we should all be grateful that the Dawgs won by five touchdowns, still the expectations are at an all-time high right now, and Georgia should have demolished this bunch.
We’ve got to give Missouri some credit, though, and they gave this game everything they had against the Dawgs.
Missouri became the first team to rush for over 100-yards on the Dawgs since they gave up 127 yards to UAB. The Tigers rushed for 121 yards on 35 carries but couldn’t get into the endzone and settled with two field goals.
The Dawgs had 10-plus players record a play that went at least 10-yards. Georgia had no problem scoring, but Missouri made sure to try their hardest.
At the end of the day, the Dawgs got a 37 point victory over another SEC opponent. Despite having more success than most folks thought they would, the Dawgs remain undefeated and still control their destiny.
Georgia must take this game as a learning experience because it was one. Without Jamaree Salyer and Adam Anderson, it was evident the Dawgs were raw.
However, Stetson Bennett made sure to make it happen as he went 13-of-19 for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
The Dawgs put in JT Daniels as well, as he went 7-of-11 for 82 yards, one touchdown, and one pick.
Jermaine Burton led the way with three catches for 76 yards and a score, but the Dawgs had 11 players record at least one catch, and that is a fantastic thing to say.
Georgia got punched in the mouth a bit on Saturday, and while they remained undefeated, they must clean up their acts to stay perfect. Missouri didn’t lay down like we all thought they would, but a win is a win, and when you have that many playmakers doing big things, it’s a good day.
