Georgia football: Week 12 at Georgia Tech

  • Venue: Bobby Dodd Stadium
  • City: Atlanta, GA
  • Overall Record: Georgia leads 68-39-5
  • Last meeting: Georgia won 52-7, 2019

It’s been a while since Georgia football took on their in-state rivals, as the two didn’t play last season because of the whole COVID-19 football season.

However, that doesn’t mean head coach Kirby Smart and his team will take this game lightly.

Georgia Tech is currently 3-6 overall and 2-5 in conference play. They’ve got Boston College and Notre Dame before the “Clean Old Fashioned Hate” week.

While they gave Clemson a run for their money earlier this season, the Yellow Jackets have been less impressive.

Geoff Collins is implementing a new culture and system in Atlanta, but those things take time and a few years to happen.

This game will end up seeing more red in their stadium than Gold and Navy, but it’s still one of the rivalry games that the Dawgs shouldn’t take lightly.

As long as Georgia remains focused, they should beat the Yellow Jackets pretty handily and possibly give the Dawgs their 11th straight blowout victory in a row.

Georgia Tech will, of course, be looking to upset the Dawgs and try to spoil a potential perfect season, but Georgia will not allow that.

This team is so focused on achieving the main goal, and they treat each week like it’s an individual national championship — so they won’t be overlooking Tech. Instead, they’ll treat it like this decides whether or not we go into the conference championship week as the No.1 team or not.

If Georgia wins this one handily, they will have accomplished something historic because it’s been a long time since the Dawgs were undefeated at this time in a season.

This game would give these seniors a 4-0 record against the Yellow Jackets, giving them another incentive just to dominate them. No one wants to lose to their in-state rivals, especially in this circumstance.

Georgia handles their first business trip to Atlanta with ease and gets win No.12.

Score Prediction: 42-3

Georgia football is three games away from finishing with a perfect 12-0 record and seeing the end of a long drought. The Dawgs have nothing to lose but everything to gain this season as they are within reach of ending 41 years of falling short and heartache. Could this be the Dawgs year?
