Georgia football will see sweater weather for Tennessee game

Get ready to bundle up Georgia football fans because Saturday is going to have cold weather.

Luckily the Dawgs have had some of the best weather this season, and the football gods are blessing the good guys.

As the dedicated Dawg Nation gets ready to travel north to Knoxville, check out this report so you can prepare for whatever the weather gives on Saturday.

While Georgia fans didn’t get much of a Fall, at least it isn’t 100-degrees outside. Instead, it’ll be bone-chilling cold.

Georgia football heads to Knoxville, where it’ll be the first sweater weather game of the year.

According to weather.com, Knoxville will see a high of 51-degrees, with temperatures dropping to 31-degrees once the sunsets.

The Dawgs and the Vols kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET, so fans will get both the daytime high and have to sit as the temperatures drop too. There is a 5-7% chance of rain, and there will be light wins. Thankfully during the day, it’ll be sunny, so while it’ll be chilly, the sun’s rays will keep fans warm while they tailgate.

Layers will be vital for staying warm during the game because 3:30 p.m. kickoffs in November are the hardest to dress for fans. After all, it’s not cold during the day, but it’s freezing at night.

It could be comfortable during the day, but once that sun goes down, it’s bone-chilling cold and almost miserable. So make sure you’re moving around, you have plenty of layers because if not, it gets cold in Tennessee, and it won’t be near as fun.

The sun rises at 7:10 a.m. and will set at 5:29 p.m., so even though it may not be the most fun to carry a blanket or extra layers, you’ll thank yourself that you do. Thankfully it’ll just be cold and not wet and cold because those games are tough to sit through.

Find the best Red and Black sweater, hoodie, or whatever warm clothing you have and take it to Knoxville because you’ll need it. A fun beanie hat is always good to have so you can keep your head and ears warm.

Georgia needs their fans to be in Knoxville Saturday afternoon and be as loud as they can. Neyland Stadium is a harsh environment to play in, so if the Dawgs can have their fans there too making a little bit of noise, it’ll only help them.
