Give Stetson Bennett reps, but allow another Georgia football quarterback to shine

Stetson Bennett is the starting quarterback for the 10-0 University of Georgia. How cool is that? Honestly, I do not see how. Bennett sacrifices himself each week for this team and has done more than enough to prove himself. By reading social media, though, some fans still are not too enthusiastic about it.

The former walk-on is now QB1 for his childhood dream school. You have to be a real Grinch not to like that.

More than likely, you are somebody who said last season Stetson Bennett could never win big at Georgia, and rather than admit that you’re wrong, you want to keep screaming JT Daniels should play. While we all can have an opinion, and yes, JT Daniels is a talented quarterback, head coach Kirby Smart and Todd Monken know what they’re doing.

That said, Stetson should play two maybe three drives at the most on Saturday and then sit. Let Daniels run the offense for a good chunk of the game and begin musical chairs at the quarterback position.

Monken has shown Benett will be using his legs more and more. Rest up Bennett, you have the biggest games of your life ahead, and Georgia does not need to drain him against Charleston Southern.

Usually, you would say the quarterback needs to have game reps to stay sharp, but with a game like Charleston Southern, they can get in a few series and let the others get reps.

These games are to let younger guys play so they can gain confidence. Bennett works hard enough. Taking a bit of a rest this week will do him some good.
