Georgia football converts 50% of third downs against the Bucs
Georgia football hasn’t been the best on third downs, but they haven’t been atrocious either.
The Dawgs are 52-of-113 on the season, which is a 46.02% conversion average. That number is currently ranked No.5 in the SEC, so it isn’t great or terrible again.
However, that average will get some help on Saturday as the Dawgs will convert 50% of their third-downs because the staff knows they need to work on their play-calling in these situations.
While the third-down conversion rate isn’t as good as it possibly could be, the Dawgs haven’t needed to have a ton of success on that down.
In the last two games, Georgia has 20 plays where they got the first down on 1st and 10 and 19 plays where they got it on second down. So the Dawgs are having more success keeping the chains moving during those first two downs instead of making conversion happen on the third down.
Georgia should have a ton of success on offense, and this prediction is just cleaning up some more minor things. The Dawgs have a great conversion rate, but it could be better. Then again, this explosive offense proves you don’t have to depend on third downs to find success and have a good time of possession.
