2. Georgia football keeps the carries to a minimum for top two running backs
Against Charleston Southern, Georgia football starting running back Zamir White had four carries for 83 yards, and James Cook had six carries for 57 yards. Between the two, they combined for ten carries, 140 yards and two touchdowns — that is impressive.
Also, against Charleston Southern, Georgia saw carries from seven different running backs — eight if you count starting nose tackle, Jordan Davis. It’s sad to say, but even against Georgia Tech, that should be attainable.
The Dawgs should have no trouble running the ball against Tech, and they should use this opportunity to get the young guys as many reps as possible, seeing that they will be fighting for a starting role next year.
Georgia Tech comes into this game ranked No.101 against the run as they give up 179.8 yards a game. You can expect more of the same this weekend as the Dawgs average 201.1 rushing yards.
With Kendall Milton closing in on a return, the idea of having him, White, Cook, and Kenny McIntosh all ready is incredible. Having White and Cook fully rested for December 4th is very important as they will get looked to carry the load. This week should be another one where they rest the top Dawgs and get ready for that game without making it too obvious.
