Georgia Tech’s starting quarterback Jeff Sims, the biggest playmaker that Georgia football, has to watch out for on Saturday. Coming out of high school, Sims was a highly touted 4-star recruit out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Not only can the freshman quarterback throw the ball downfield well, but he can also pick up big-time yards with his legs. Throughout eight games this year, he has rushed for 372 yards with four rushing touchdowns.

Sims has over 1,000 yards with 12 scores through the air but has thrown seven interceptions in eight games. He ranks No.12 in the ACC in total quarterback rating at 52.1, which ranks No. 86 in the entire nation.

Injuries impacted Sims during the season as he only played in eight of their 11 games this year.

Sims, who was out this past Saturday against Notre Dame, remains unseen if he will play against Georgia, but watch for No. 10 to be an impact if he is out there.

If Tech is without Sims, redshirt freshman Jordan Yates would be next in line for the Yellow Jackets. Depending on how frustrated Georgia’s defense makes them, both Yates and Sims could get playing time regardless. The Dawgs need to be ready for both but realize that Sims is a versatile guy who can hurt them if they’re unaware of where he is.
