Now for the defensive side of the ball, here are three impact players for Georgia football and its offense need to know.

First off, we have junior linebacker, Charlie Thomas.

Thomas leads Georgia Tech in tackles for loss at 10 and in sacks with three of them. Coming out of high school in Thomason, Ga., teams recruited him to play the safety position, but Georgia Tech didn’t feel like he was fit for just that position in the college ranks.

During his freshman year, Tech’s coaching staff decided to switch him to outside linebacker. They felt he was a better fit at that position in the long run, and he certainly was. Thomas got off to a fast start, as he started in six games as an outside linebacker his freshman year and was an impact player.

Since then, he has taken on the role of being known as one of the most versatile defensive players in the ACC and even the entire country. He is most comparable to former Clemson star player Isaiah Simmons due to his versatility of making plays all around.

Thomas has appeared in all eleven games this season, as he has not missed a game dating all the way back to September of his freshman season in 2018.

Thomas will need to make some big plays in the game on Saturday against the Dawgs to give the Yellow Jackets a fighting chance.
