Fans explode with excitement to see George Pickens finally return
Georgia football fans have waited all season to see No.1 wide receiver George Pickens return to the field and play.
After tearing his ACL during the spring, it was uncertain if Pickens would take a snap this year, but he has officially returned in the final regular-season game against Georgia Tech.
The rumors of his return have been circling Dawg nation for a while. The fans’ dreams finally came true this week as Georgia put Pickens out on their first drive.
He didn’t get targeted on the throw, but it was still incredible to see him out there.
George Pickens returned to the playing field against Tech, and the fans went wild.
Pickens is Georgia’s top wideout, and he has been someone they’ve missed being able to use all year. Now that he is back, of course, it’ll take some time to get him back to full game speed, but progress is vital.
Once the fans realized, yes, that is No.1 on the field, Twitter and Dawg Nation lost their marbles. Here are some of the best tweets from their reaction to seeing Pickens return.
Everyone is extremely excited to see the big wide receiver return to the field and play from reporters to fans. Will he get targeted and have a ball come his way? Only time will tell, but seeing him out there running routes and in full pads is a step in the right direction.
By getting him back right now, it really is perfect timing. The Dawgs 100% need him for the Alabama game next week because Georgia needs to be as healthy as they can be to beat the Tide.
Georgia has wideouts who stepped up in his absence, but he is one of those wide receivers that just speak for himself. He has so much talent. It almost isn’t fair. If Pickens can contribute a small amount, it’ll be beneficial.
The Dawgs love having George Pickens healthy and able to play because he is a difference-maker. One of the last memories we have against him was against Cinncinati and the big fight he got into with the Tech player. While that isn’t Kirby Smart football, it happened, and it was fantastic for the rivalry’s sake.
