Georgia football fans and Atlanta band Zac Brown Band announced that they would be playing live during ESPN College GameDay on Saturday for the SEC Championship Game.

It was a great idea for the show to include a local band and perform for the crowd. With the game starting at 4 p.m. and the show being in the morning, it’s a good way to get fans there early.

Plus, it will be fun as Zac is a big Dawg fan while his wife is an Alabama fan. House divided, just like so many families throughout college football.

Georgia football fan Zac Brown Band makes for an excellent GameDay choice.

They will perform a new song off the band’s latest album during the show. Then, the fans in attendance at GameDay will get two more pieces from the band after the show finishes.

He sang the national anthem for the 2018 national championship game in Atlanta.  Brown was the guest picker for the 2019 SEC Championship Game for the Dawgs against LSU, so hopefully, he will have better luck making his picks this time.

ESPN College GameDay will be at their fourth Georgia game after being at the Clemson, Arkansas and Auburn games earlier in the season.

The Dawgs are a perfect 3-0 in those games and looking to make it 4-0.

It’s nice to see the GameDay crew pick a Georgia guest picker over an Alabama one, even with the Tide being the “home” team since it’s an odd year. The West teams get odd years to “host,” and East teams get “even” years.

So this crew could have picked Justin Thomas or any other celebrity that claims the Tide, but instead, they went with the Atlanta and Dawg pick.

Could this be a suggestion as to who GameDay feels like will win? Maybe, but it was likely because Brown could make it and others couldn’t. He has some serious standards to uphold after the Dawgs redeemed themselves with GameDay this season, so hopefully, it’s a good omen.
