Georgia football has itself in a predicament with its quarterbacks. While starting quarterback Stetson Bennett has done a fantastic job getting the Dawgs to where they are right now, it’s time to test out JT Daniels with this offense to see how it’ll work.

While it may seem far-fetched to throw in a quarterback during the postseason who hasn’t started a game since Sept. 25, but at this point, it may be the most logical option.

Bennett has done a great job, but if Saturday tells us anything, it’s that he cannot keep up in a shootout when it matters. The offensive line protected him at times and did their job, but Bennett made the costly mistake of throwing a pick-six and just some bad throws.

Although Daniels is a better overall quarterback, half of the fanbase wants to see him take the snaps over Bennett while the other half wants to trust head coach Kirby Smart.

Georgia football needs to make the decision to start JT Daniels against Michigan.

It’ll ultimately be Smart’s decision, but it’s at least time to give Daniels a shot to try. If he doesn’t, then Daniels could transfer out, putting Georgia in a pickle.

Right now would be the best time to make this switch, so Daniels can work with the offense on a more consistent basis because if Smart were to put him in right now, there would likely be more mistakes out of him.

He hasn’t played a ton, so there isn’t much camaraderie between Daniels and the offense so that he could get sacked more. Maybe throw a pick or two because they just haven’t worked together much since the beginning of the season.

Plus, when he has gotten to go into the games, Daniels is in mop-up duty. While blowing out opponents is fabulous, at the same time, it’s showing the fanbase that the Dawgs haven’t had to fight much, and that may be another reason for the lack of fire from them.

Georgia will need someone to throw the ball more than 15.4 passes a game Bennett does to beat Michigan and possibly Alabama. Daniels can be that guy because that’s one of the reasons the Dawgs brought him to Athens.

Maybe something has gone down between Daniels and the staff, but if the Dawgs want to win it all, it’s time to give Daniels a shot at it. Bennett has done a great job getting them here, but it’s time to let egos go out the door, time to try something new.

While none of the fans genuinely know what is happening in that quarterback room, we all need to thank Bennett for getting us here. He did do a great job. Bennett just doesn’t have quite what it takes to beat an Alabama or even a Michigan.

Use these three weeks and let Daniels gain some confidence in his ability, gain trust back from his teammates and let Michigan be on its heels all day trying to figure out how to adjust to the Mailman not being back there.

Daniels’ ability to get the ball off quick is what the Dawgs need to win it all. So thank you, Mailman, but it’s time to be a leader and say you know what, Daniels has the better chance at winning us all a ring and back off — help Daniels like he helped Bennett this season.
