Georgia football kicks it into overdrive for final recruiting stretch
December is already busy enough for Georgia football. They played in the SEC Championship game on December 4th and have the semifinals close out the month, but that doesn’t stop the coaches from kicking it into overdrive for the final recruiting stretch.
All week long, the coaches have visited recruits’ houses, trying to get in as many as possible before the dead period hits.
With under a week to go before signing day, the coaches have kicked it into overdrive, proving why they continue to finish with some of the best recruiting classes year after year.
Georgia football proves why they’re one of the best recruiting machines with a decisive final push.
Head coach Kirby Smart seemed like he was in 10 different homes in one day, so the Kirby-chopper was flying in turbo mode, or he had a police escort leading him down the highway to make it to all these places.
However, that drive and determination to visit so many kids in this short amount of time show us exactly why so many kids want to play for them.
Smart knows how important it is to recruit good players, but also ones who are going to buy into this culture he is building at Georgia.
Georgia has had the No.1 recruiting class for the 2022 class, but Alabama took the late jump as they landed another four-star. However, the Dawgs want to close it out strong and it’s not about who has the No.1 class today, but at the end of the day on Dec. 15.
Right now on 247Sports team rankings it’s No.1 Alabama, No.2 Georgia and No.3 Texas A&M — talk about SEC takeover.
With a handful of spots left, Georgia is using this time to visit their current pledges but also make sure they are showing love to the guys left on their radar.
It seems like the university will be holding a recruiting even this weekend in Athens, to close out the period with a bang. After a week of traveling, the coaches will host pledges too? Dedication at its finest right there and it should show how much this staff values recruiting because they know it’s about reloading each year to stay competitive.
Georgia isn’t slowing down in what seems like the busiest month of the season. Even though, it sucks we have to wait a month before they play again, seeing this staff fight for kids on the recruiting trail excites us even more. The future is so bright in Athens and it’s getting brighter with all these stars.
