The Georgia football program is looking to close out the 2022 recruiting cycle with one of the best classes ever put together from top to bottom.

The Dawgs currently have the 247Sports Composite No. 1 overall class, and they are No. 1 in the SEC, battling it out with Texas A&M and Alabama.

However, at 5:15 p.m. ET, the Dawgs were currently the No. 3 overall class, but the race is tighter than it has been in years.

Three SEC teams sit in the top-3 on the 247Sports site right now, and there is no surprise they will be the Dawgs’ biggest competition today.

While at first today seemed like it was going to be smooth sailing for the Dawgs, in the past 48 hours or so, a ton has happened, and today will end up being a lot more entertaining than a few of the Early Signing Days have been in the past.

Head coach Kirby Smart will address the class at some point in the morning, and we’ll have his video here for you to see, as well.

Live Tracker & Live Updates of Early Signing Day for Georgia football

The Dawgs came into Early Signing Day with 27 commitments, including four 5-stars, 16 4-stars and seven 3-stars. They have 312.07 total points, and the recruits have an average of 92.80.

As of 10:20 a.m, ET, the Dawgs have had 18 letters of intent sent on a fax machine that is already warmed up and ready to go. Australian punter Brett Thorson got things going yesterday for the Dawgs as signing day is almost over for the Aussie.

We will update this tracker and repost it to our socials throughout the day, and stay tuned to our articles as well.

Georgia football remaining targets

Georgia football has a handful of guys they’re after today, including a few more flips and five-stars. They’ve given themselves plenty of options if any of the above guys don’t want to stick around Athens.

Here is a list of them and what time they’re making their decisions:

4-star LB Shemar James
5-star DL Shemar Stewart
4-star S Smoke Bouie
4-star OT Earnest Greene
4-star DL Christen Miller

We included a good bit of names just to provide a few extra options if anything wild happens.

How many early enrollees will Georgia football have?

At this point, there are seven early enrollees for sure, with the potential for a couple more give or take how the Dawgs’ day goes. Among that group of early enrollees are names like 4-star Gunner Stockton, 5-star Daylen Everette, just to name a couple.

We’ll have much more on the early enrollees soon.

Georgia football Live Analysis

10:30 a.m. ET: As expected, Georgia football has had one guy flip away from the Dawgs, but remember Dawg fans, this is to make room for bigger and better guys.

Tyre West, a 4-star defensive lineman, has been flirting with FSU for months now, but he signed with the Vols over the Noles in a twist of events.

It doesn’t come much as a surprise because he has been flirting to go elsewhere, and rumors surround another 5-star defensive lineman and him coming to Georgia.

10:40 a.m. ET: There are 18 LOIs in right now, and West is the only flip so far. Now the Dawgs have seven flips on the commitment list right now.

12:30 p.m. ET: Travis Hunter stuns the college football world and signs Jackson State University.

1:00 p.m. ET: Two more Dawgs send in their LOI’s, giving Georgia 21 of 26 pledges signed. Three-star wideout Dillion Bell will wait till Feb. 2 to sign his LOI. That was expected and doesn’t change anything else.

The next few hours will be interesting to watch as there are rumors surrounding Jackson State and Kamari Wilson. We’re not too worried about that, but it is something to note.

1:33 p.m. ET:  Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart addresses the media.

4:06 p.m. ET: 5-star CB Kamari Wilson chooses the Gators over the Dawgs. This one stung a bit, but Georgia is still massively loaded in this defensive back class. Mom and Dad didn’t look too pleased with the decision. We will keep an eye on it.

5:00 p.m. ET: Dawgs land 5-star Edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr., over Alabama and FSU. Big get for the Dawgs, he is a freak of nature and someone who is going to shine in the Red and Black.

5:10 p.m. ET: Dawgs still have a couple of guys left to sign at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Shemar James and then Smoke Bouie. It’s anyone’s game with these two. If the Dawgs don’t land them, it’s not a miss.

Keep an eye out on the transfer portal too because that will be a key area for the Dawgs to poach some guys out of too.

3-star defensive lineman Shone Washington stuck with the Dawgs and sent in his LOI around the same time as the Wilson and Jones news was happening.

dark. Next. Georgia football flips its way to No. 1 recruiting class

Stay tuned. We will provide tweets and any updates throughout the day.
