Three wideouts Georgia football could focus on in the portal

Georgia football could use some extra help in the wide receiver room, and a handful of guys in the portal would be great fits.

Arkansas wideout Darin Turner recently hit the portal. He is a 6-3 206-pound receiver. Turner didn’t play any in 2020 as he was redshirted and hasn’t gotten to prove himself. This option could be further down the road, but someone to watch out for because of his size.

The big wide receiver name that would be ideal is Trey Palmer from LSU. He recently put his name in the portal and was a 4-star out of high school. He is a Louisiana native, so it’s interesting to see him leaving, but the Dawgs could use a speedy 6-0 receiver with Kearis Jackson graduating.

He caught 30 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns this year, and he was the starting returner on special teams for the Bayou Bengals with 142 return yards.

Palmer would be ideal because he comes from a hard-nose football program with an abundance of wideouts. Georgia should reach out and quickly.

Lastly, the Dawgs should reach out to former Syracuse wideout Taj Harris. He has two years of eligibility left but is a good-sized receiver who could help out. He is skinny at 6-2 175-pounds, but the kid could be a force on the right weight program. Part of the reports state he is going to Kentucky, but the 247Sports transfer portal doesn’t have a new school listed for him yet.

If he is available, go after him because he is someone wideouts coach Cortez Hankton can work with, and he would be great for another long ball target.

These three guys are who Georgia should target first. There is also Oregons’ Mycah Pittman, Texas’ Joshua Moore, South Carolina’s Dominick Hill, and Texas’ Al’vonte Woodard.

In most of these guys, Georgia could get a big-time sleeper, so it’ll be fun to see who they go after in the portal.
