Georgia basketball isn’t always the easiest to support, but one of these teams is currently 10-1 and is deserving of the Bulldog fans’ support.

The women’s basketball team just beat the No. 2 team in the country and then came home to handle its business against Saint Francis earlier today.

After their incredible week, the Lady Dogs are now the No.14 ranked women’s basketball team.

Instead of complaining about the men, Georgia basketball fans should jump on the women’s bus.

While we all know the men’s program is struggling in a major way right now, instead of dwelling on that, fans should realize there is an incredible program that shares the Steg and deserves the support.

So many people don’t respect women’s basketball, but now is a perfect time to go and see how good these ladies are. They are exciting, and head coach Joni Taylor has something special. When she took over for the great Andy Landers, it was apparent once she got her girls into the system, Taylor would take this program to the next level.

It’s understandable why women’s basketball isn’t as popular as men’s, but it’s time for that to change. What the Lady Dogs have right now is similar to what the football team had when Nick Chubb and Sony Michel came back in 2017.

When Jenna Staiti and Que Morrison decided to come back one more season and use their COVID year, it pushed the Lady Dogs to another level. Plus, with Mikayla Coombs and Malury Bates being the two redshirt seniors, this group has the experience to do something special.

Sure, women’s basketball isn’t as exciting as men’s, but it’s time for Georgia fans to give these young ladies a chance.

A big game on Dec. 30 needs to see the Steg packed out for these ladies. Georgia takes on LSU, which now has Baylor’s former head coach Kim Mulkey who took the Bears to the top of women’s basketball.

This game will be a massive test for the Lady Dogs, but they could have a home-court advantage with a packed-out house, and it would be great to support this impressive team.

Instead of dwelling on how bad the men’s basketball team is right now, fans should buy tickets and give the Lady Dogs a chance. Take your daughter or go with your friends, give this team a chance because the opinion of women’s basketball can change with one game, and if they win, it’ll make it even easier to like.

This article is no dig to women’s basketball or to the men’s team, but instead of watching a losing team, why not see the winning one who will put on a show.
