Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart loves a good revenge moment.

After a rough 2016 season, he went on the revenge tour in 2017, and when a team beats the Dawgs, the next time the two meet, Georgia usually comes out on top — not counting Alabama, of course.

The most crucial revenge game to date has to be when Auburn won in the regular season in 2017 just to get beat by Georgia in the SEC Championship game a few weeks later.

Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart loves getting revenge, but it’ll be sweeter against the Tide.

The Dawgs got punched in the mouth in 2017, much like they did a few weeks ago against Alabama. After the Tigers put Georgia in their place, Smart and his staff put together the most brilliant game plan to remind Auburn who they were.

Now Georgia has twice as long to do the same to Alabama. Smart thrived the last time his team had to win to keep their playoff dreams alive, and this season should hopefully result in the same thing.

After such an impressive 12-0 start to the season, everyone thought it was finally the Dawgs moment. Then they got knocked down a few notches, resulting in people questioning it all.

Dawg fans are still upset instead of being excited about being back in the playoffs and continue to complain about some of the coaching staff’s decisions.

Much like the 2017 season, where fans, media folks, and anyone in between didn’t think the Dawgs would be ready for that matchup game in Atlanta. However, Georgia proved them all wrong and made a national title appearance where they just fell short to, you guessed it, Alabama.

Georgia was more than ready for that game against Auburn. For now, the Tide has proven to be the only team to get the best of Smart and his staff. This year is the one where all of that changes. We won’t get our hopes up yet, but after the media talked with Smart this week, it seemed like the team will go back to what worked all season long.

The Dawgs must focus on a tough Michigan team before even considering thinking about Alabama, but Georgia should find a way to win. If the Dawgs are as elite as they looked during the regular season, Michigan better hold on because Smart’s first action is to beat the Wolverines so he can seek out his revenge.
