Georgia football is on one wild ride right now, and for the most part, it’s been a great one. The Dawgs are right where they want to be as they’ve fought through so much adversity and worked so hard. They still control their destiny, and it all comes down to Dec. 31.

The Dawgs are 12-1 and heading into the College Football Playoffs to take on Michigan in the Orange Bowl.

Even with a few COVID-19 concerns rising as the days grow closer to the game, the Dawgs need to keep everyone safe and prepare for this game as it’ll happen.

Hopefully, everyone will stay safe, not test positive, and we can finish this college football season without too much trouble.

Georgia football will play in the Orange Bowl before we know it, so here are three early predictions for the game.

The Dawgs and Wolverines might as well be the same team because they play ball the same way. Both offenses like to run the ball and can throw the ball when needed. These two defenses are havoc-wreaking and love to cause problems for opposing quarterbacks.

Michigan worked their tail off to get to the playoffs and knocked off Ohio State from getting in once again. The Wolverines are going to come ready, but so are the Dawgs.

With under two weeks until kickoff, there is plenty to talk about, and both fanbases have been busy talking on social media.

Georgia fans have gone back to their typical ways of expecting nothing and complaining about everything because of what happened at the SEC Championship, and it’s understandable. Some have taken it farther, and others have accepted what happened and turned their focus to the Wolverines.

With so much time between now and the game, let’s give three early predictions on how we think the game will go for the Dawgs down in Miami.

Georgia football sees their defense return to dominance

The Alabama game saw a Georgia football defense that didn’t look like themselves at all. They were lackluster and barely caused any havoc.

If the Dawgs want revenge, they must get back to what worked and make the Wolverines quit. The way some of the defensive leaders talked to the media, it seems this unit has gotten back to themselves and is ready to demolish Michigan.

Georgia must pressure Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara and contain Hassan Hassin when he totes the rock.

The Dawgs need to send a message that the SEC Championship game was a fluke and not who they are. Georgia needs to remind everyone what got them to Atlanta and the College Football Playoffs, which is to enforce their will on their opponent and make them quit.

The turnover pads need to be put on someone during the game against Michigan because it’s been far too long since someone donned them.

Georgia has had plenty of times to get healthy and regroup. Now it’s their time to shine and send these seniors out on the right note. This group controls their destiny, and if they can keep Michigan off the field and allow their offense to do their thing, it should be a victorious night for the Dawgs.

Stetson Bennett will start for Georgia football and lead them to glory

Georgia football will likely be the starter for Georgia football on Dec. 31, and if he is, then it’s because head coach Kirby Smart and the staff believe he has the best chance to win.

Bennett has helped get the Dawgs to a 12-1 record and into the College Football Playoffs. No matter what the fans say, this young man has done a fantastic job this season.

Does he have some tendencies that make things a bit harder sometimes? Yes, but no quarterback is perfect. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken will have to adjust the game plan so the ball gets out quickly, and he can make snap decisions. Bennett does a much better job when he doesn’t have to overthink things.

He also needs to remember that he can use his legs to make plays. Yes, Alabama took that away from the equation, but Bennett got rattled, and then it was uphill from there.

Heck, for all we know, if JT Daniels gets out of quarantine in time, he may get the nod, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t, and Bennett is the guy. He has done what he has needed to secure the job and keep it this year. This young man sacrifices himself each week for this team and deserves the fans’ respect.

When he starts against the Wolverines and helps beat them, then Bennett will be the hero, but only to some. It’s tragic too, but that seems to be the way things go with Georgia fans.

Bennett will improve off his mistakes against Alabama and have a big game. It’s his time to shine and to return glory to Athens.

Georgia football and Michigan will find a way to play this ball game

The last couple of days have shown how quickly things can happen with COVID-related things, and it can be downright scary.

If a major outbreak happens, the game may not happen at all, and that wouldn’t be how any team would want to end the season.

The College Football Playoff committed announced Wednesday afternoon a national champion could get crowned by forfeit.

So if a team cannot field a team, they will have to forfeit the game. If three of the four cannot play, technically, the last team standing wins it all. Now that would be a crappy way to win a national championship, and no team should be desperate enough to want to win it like that — not even Georgia.

The Dawgs need to isolate everyone and monitor where their guys are going. They need to find a way to get everyone the booster and do the necessary thing to get their shot at playing for another national championship.

Alabama and Georgia both have cases, and Michigan is doing a team booster. Cincinnati hasn’t had any issues yet and seems to be taking the necessary precautions.

We think the Wolverines and the Dawgs will do whatever it takes to play this game. At the same time, they won’t do anything that would put the players in jeopardy either. Hopefully, everything will get back on track, and everyone gets to finish the year.

Georgia football may have some more things to overcome, but there is still plenty of time to make sure everything goes how they need it to so the Dawgs and Wolverines can play on Dec. 31.
