Georgia football offensive key vs Michigan: Contain the edge players

Michigan is led on defense by All-American defensive end and Heisman Trophy finalist, Aidan Hutchinson. The Wolverines defensive leader tallied 14 sacks this season. He is well-deserving of all the accolades and hype.

David Ojabo is listed as a linebacker. However, he lines up mostly opposite of Hutchinson on the line. He has 11 sacks this season. Yes, that is a combined 25 sacks. That’s strong.

Georgia must contain these two players and they are well equipped to do just that. Todd Monken had used two and even three tight ends a lot this season. True freshman Brock Bowers — who had had an incredible season — as well as John FitzPatrick, and Darnell Washington will be very important against this Michigan defense.

John FitzPatrick is listed at 6’7 and 250 pounds, and Darnell Washington at 6’7 and 265 pounds. Washington’s ability as a blocker is so strong he could have been just as highly recruited as a tackle. Fitzpatrick has been primarily used as a blocker all season.

Having essentially two extra tackles to go along with sophomore Warren McClendon (right tackle) and senior Jamaree Salyer (left tackle), expect some big boy physicality to be happening.
