Georgia football has a team full of selfless individuals, but probably the biggest one of all, physically and socially, is the senior nose tackle, Jordan Davis.

He doesn’t have a selfish bone in his body, which is why so many love him. It’s not just about what he does on the football field, but what Davis does off the field that makes him one of the unique players in college football.

From his honorary Redcoat Band member status to making sure he stops and talks to any child he sees, Davis is a special guy who doesn’t care about fortune and fame. He loves football and uses his platform to share that love and be a good person.

Jordan Davis is a great role model who shows that being unselfish can lead to great things.

Sure he is one of the leaders of the Georgia defense and is a mountain on the defensive front, but what he does off the field is where people fall in love with him.

Davis is appreciative when he doesn’t have to be, another trait that makes him who he is. Like everyone else, he loves the Red Coat Band and became an honorary member, which is incredible. His appreciation for them traveling to each game and being there for the team no matter what shows.

He and his mother pray before every game, showing how much he respects her and honors her — two more incredible traits for Mr. Davis.

Davis understands that being a college football athlete is not just what they do on the field but also off it. He stops and speaks to kids who want to meet him and tries to make their day. Davis is just as worried about making sure the fans have fun as he is a leader for the defense because he is aware that it isn’t nearly as rewarding without fans.

He has both parts nailed and has already set himself up an excellent base for charitable work moving forward.

We’ve noted these great things all season long, but in a time where so many players opt out of bowl games, transfer because they don’t get their way, or just worry about themselves, Davis is out there giving and giving.

Davis knows that people look up to him, well everyone looks up to him physically, and that by leading example, the next generation of Dawgs will have that instilled in them.

He loves his brothers and this university, which every coach wants in their players. Davis is the embodiment of that, and during a time where he could choose to be selfish, he doesn’t. Between him and Nakobe Dean, Georgia is lucky to have two fine young men leading by example.
