Another thing Georgia football has in common with Michigan is how intense these teams play.
They both have tenacious defensive that isn’t afraid to smack an opponent and make them quit.
Both teams are full of playmakers who can wreak havoc and enjoy doing so.
The Wolverines have Aiden Hutchinson and David Ojabo, while the Dawgs have Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, and others. There are so many playmakers on both teams, but each one has a defensive duo that can cause severe problems for opponents.
Georgia football has to match Michigan’s strong intensity because the Wolverines won’t make it easy.
Head coach Kirby Smart mentioned that intensity in one of his press conferences, and if he makes a note of it, you know it’s something his team must do.
Physical football is what Smart lives for, and going up against a team like Michigan will give him an idea of just how stout his team is and what he will need to change moving forward if there is anything.
Smart wouldn’t have said it if he didn’t feel like it could be a deciding factor.
Smart also talks about their desire and how people didn’t consider how hard they played. Georgia must take it into account, and the fact he did his homework and asked tells you Smart is doing everything to get his guys ready for this battle.
The closer this game gets, the more of an all-out war it feels like it will be, which makes college football so dang awesome. These historic teams are battling it out for a spot in the national championship game. Two teams that don’t necessarily have the most modern offenses are still very efficient.
Trusting the process is what the Dawgs need to do because Michigan brings the same intensity that Smart embeds into his team’s heads.
However, this is what college football is all about, two hard-nosed football teams ready to punch each other repeatedly to see who comes out victorious. While Alabama and many others have these high-powered offenses, Michigan and Georgia strive on stout defenses and efficient offenses.
More fans will watch this game more than the Alabama, Cinncinati one because it will be a chess match between two programs that desperately want that spot in the national championship.
Who will have the better game plan and keep their intensity for four quarters? It won’t be long till we find out.
