Georgia football: 4 outstanding Dawgs who earned Orange Bowl stickers
Georgia football linebacker Nolan Smith
Georgia football had one of its best performances out of their linebackers, and Nolan Smith paced the whole team against Michigan.
He led the team with eight total tackles, five solo, one tackle for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and at least one quarterback hurry.
Smith is another leader that Georgia needed to see step up on a big stage like this, and he did that. The Dawgs need him to be the guy because he is so naturally talented it doesn’t take much for him to be great.
He earns a helmet sticker for leading the Dawgs in the semifinal and wreaking all kinds of havoc on the Michigan quarterback duo.
Smith loves this team and knows how important that everyone plays well right now. There cannot be any distractions, and he, along with the likes of the other defensive leaders, is keeping this group focused. They were laser-focused against Michigan, especially Smith. After him failing to fall on the fumble, it seems like he did some soul searching, and it showed on Friday against the Wolverines.
Georgia has what it takes, and it’s going to come down to this defense putting together one of their best performances. Michigan was just the warm-up for this group’s coming-out party to prove they’re worthy of winning a championship.
