After fans from all over the country were scratching off Georgia football, being in contention for the national championship before the Orange Bowl ever happened against Michigan.

However, the Dawgs had a different plan in mind.

Going into the Orange Bowl, Georgia knew what it had to do to get to its end goal, which is winning the national championship, and that goal was to beat the Michigan Wolverines.

The Dawgs hit on all cylinders. They controlled every aspect of the game — from the line of scrimmage to the truly remarkable performance from starting quarterback Stetson Bennett in the passing game. From start to finish, it was a dominating performance from the Dawgs.

Georgia football took Michigan to the woodshed and these three players surprised us with their performance.

Georgia outperformed almost every major stat category over the Michigan Wolverines. Even with that late touchdown, it didn’t really matter. The game was out of reach.

The Dawgs, with the help of Stetson Bennett and the receiving core, outgained Michigan 521-328 in total yards, and to add on, they forced the Wolverines to turn over the ball three times while the Dawgs did not turn it over one time.

There were many impressive individual performances all over the field during the Dawgs Orange Bowl win over the Michigan Wolverines, but these three players came were pleasant surprises. They went above and beyond to help the Dawgs beat the Wolverines, and they deserve some recognition. Georgia needed more than the usual players to step up in a big way, and these three did step up and shined.
