Nakobe Dean

The 2021 Butkus Award winner has had a dominant season for Georgia football. He is considered the defense captain, often calling audibles and getting other players set for plays. He is also likely leaving for the NFL after this season ends.

The junior from Horn Lake, Miss. native, has 68 tackles, six sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles on the year. One could argue his best game came in the Orange Bowl against Michigan, where he had two tackles for loss, one sack, and forced a fumble.

Many mock drafts have him going in the first round, and it’s not hard to see why. He has great size, speed, and a skill set that makes him one of the best prospects in the 2022 class. NFL Draft expert Todd McShay praised Dean’s performance against Michigan, citing how he loves Dean’s “intensity” for the game before mentioning he could easily be a top 10 pick in this year’s Draft.

Dean committed to Georgia back in 2018 as the No. 2 ranked inside linebacker in the country. His freshman year played in 11 games, but his breakout came as a sophomore. He led Georgia in solo and total tackles, proving to fans that he was destined to be the next great Georgia linebacker in the Kirby Smart era.
