Georgia football and Alabama take on each other in a matter of hours for bragging rights and to become the 2022 national title winners.

It’s been 41-years since the Dawgs won a national championship while Alabama is the defending title winner.

With so many talking heads going back and forth, the more confident we feel in the Dawgs.

Georgia football has the biggest chip on their shoulder, and it’s their moment to win it all.

This week is all about business as usual. That tone started when head coach Kirby Smart refused to accept a Poweraid bath last week against Michigan. Smart continued to do that as they refused to have the marching band welcome them off the plane.

Georgia is treating this like any other road game, and that mindset is why we’re confident in the Dawgs. Alabama had the band show up for them, and they seem to be enjoying the national championship festivities, and we don’t blame them at all. These players all earned their spot in Indianapolis, so enjoy it.

We’re not saying they shouldn’t enjoy it, but Georgia treats it differently because they have something to prove and don’t want to let anything distract them from achieving that goal.

However, Georgia has something to prove to themselves, so this business mindset is what the Dawgs need to do in this situation. They don’t want the SEC Championship Game to define their season, so tonight is when they can prove it didn’t. That giant chip on their shoulder should continue to grow until they kickoff because Georgia needs to play with a vengeance.

Smart is trying to have his team prepared for anything Alabama throws as his squad — the Dawgs will be ready to handle it.

Here at Dawn of the Dawg, we are either going to look like geniuses or silly with our 41-17 score prediction, but the talking heads did make a good point — this game is the one Georgia has to win like Alabama had to win the SEC Championship game.

Georgia went into that game confident, and while they’re likely feeling good about where they are right now, it’s essential they play as no one believes in them, and they must prove they are a force.

Alabama could do what they did in Atlanta tonight, but they may not. The Tide had to win that game to get to this point in the season because they handled Cincinnati as they should have. However, the Bearcats made the Tide earn it, which should also show the Dawgs something they can use.

As we’re just hours away from this showdown and what will likely be one of the best national titles in College Football Playoff history, the confidence in the Dawgs grows. It could be Hope seeping back into our brains after we swore off her, but at the same time, why not Georgia?

Why can’t the Dawgs take this opportunity and run away with it? Oh wait, they can. Georgia shouldn’t care if it’s Alabama — they should want to finish the drill and leave the best legacy in Georgia history since that hallowed 1980 team.

We’ve broken this game down so much that it’s time to let the players do the talking. Georgia has what it takes, so now it’s up to them to take it all away from the Tide.
