Georgia football is the 2021 national champions after taking down Alabama 33-18 on Monday night in Indianapolis. The game was one epic battle between two of the best teams in college football, and the Dawgs finally got over the Alabama hump.

While Georgia saw the veterans lead the way throughout the game, there were youngsters on both sides of the ball making big plays.

The Dawgs have had freshmen step up in positions where the injuries left the depth thin all season long. That experience they gained all season led up to the national championship, where they were ready for whatever the Tide threw at them.

Georgia football scored four times, and three came from freshmen guys taking advantage of the moment.

Starting quarterback Stetson Bennett put the team on his back, and while he had veterans out there like George Pickens, Kearis Jackson, or running backs Zamir White and James Charles, he could have thrown the ball to in the fourth quarter. Still, instead, Bennett trusted two freshmen in the biggest moment of the game to make the play.

The national title is the biggest stage in college football, and it usually shows what kind of players a team has. Georgia may see a lot of big-time playmakers leave after this season, but what is even more exciting is seeing these young players stepping up and helping the Dawgs win it all.

Those youngsters shined on the biggest stage, which resulted in Georgia outscoring Alabama 20-9 in the fourth quarter. That performance doesn’t happen every day, so it’s exciting to see the future so bright.

Even though the veterans made just as much success happen in the title game, these three freshmen were the ones who helped the Dawgs score when they needed to and ultimately win the ballgame.
