Georgia football TE John Fitzpatrick

Another name that could make Georgia football fans scratch their heads, John Fitzpatrick, makes this list because he could hit the draft and, with his size, get picked up in one of the late rounds or get a contract through free agency.

Some may feel that is a long stretch because of Fitzpatrick’s inconsistencies in catching the ball, but he can improve, and his 6-7, 250-pound size makes him intriguing.

Fitzpatrick is coachable, and that tight end room is getting complete with the youngsters coming in ready to compete. We’re not saying Georgia wouldn’t benefit by having him stay, which is likely what will happen, but it wouldn’t surprise us if he decided to test his luck or find another place to play.

Like Kearis Jackson, he could go to another school, but he will likely stick around Athens for another year. Rumors are circling about Darnell Washington leaving in the portal, so Fitzpatrick may need to stick around to give the Dawgs a big man to help block. Though if he goes, could that help Washington stay? Only time will tell with that situation.

These scenarios are unlikely, but he is better than many people give him credit for, and another team could see that potential and reach out to him.

Some may feel like we’re pulling strings by putting Fitzpatrick on this list, but if he did decide to leave, it would open the door up for Oscar Delp to impact as a freshman.

Brock Bowers having the freshman season he did is what makes us feel like there could be some movement in the tight end room, but Fitzpatrick will likely stay in Athens. He may be an underdog, but he has the upside and could shock some people.
