Georgia football RB, Daijun Edwards

The first name on this list has to be Daijun Edwards, one of Georgia football’s many running backs on its roster. While Kenny McIntosh and Kendall Milton will likely be the one-two punch for the Dawgs in 2022, Edwards is someone the Dawgs need to keep around.

He brought a spark of excitement any time he was on the field in 2021 and is a talented running back. Georgia has a stable full of backs that could start anywhere in the country, but building that depth is critical.

The Dawgs are a running back by committee kind of team, as we’ve seen since head coach Kirby Smart got to Athens, and that will continue in 2022.

Edwards finished the season with 49 rushes for 215 yards and three scores, averaging 4.4 yards touch.

While he didn’t get a ton of reps, Edwards did get some quality ones because Georgia beat so many teams by two or more touchdowns. That experience should help implement him into the rotation, and who knows, he may even earn a start or two.

However, the Dawgs have to keep him around to make that happen. Georgia doesn’t need to lose him to another team. Instead, they need to find more ways to use this talented running back.
