Georgia football broke a school record with 18 early enrollees arriving on campus this week.

The Dawgs’ culture has already impacted these young guys as they’re ready to work with the team.

Instead of waiting around till summer, these 18 guys are ready for their next chapter in life.

The Dawgs currently have 18 enrollees, six signees and three hard commits for the 2022 class, so over half of the class is already in Athens, which is flat-out impressive.

Georgia football sees a large early enrollee group proving they’re ready to be elite.

Some of these early enrollees got to participate in the celebrations for Georgia, and some of those guys even practiced with the team for playoff prep.

This group of recruits shows how devoted they are to Georgia football by getting here early and ready to learn. Of course, not every recruit can come in early, but seeing over half of the class already on-campus shows everything we need to know about this group.

Those enrolling early for the 2022 class are:

  • 5-star ATH Malaki Starks
  • 5-star DL Mykel Williams
  • 5-star CB Daylen Everette
  • 4-star OG Earnest Greene
  • 4-star DL Bear Alexander
  • 4-star LB Jalon Walker
  • 4-star QB Gunner Stockton
  • 4-star TE Oscar Delp
  • 4-star LB C.J. Washington
  • 4-star WR Chandler Smith
  • 4-star WR De’Nylon Morrissette
  • 4-star S JaCorey Thomas
  • 4-star EDGE Carlton Madden
  • 4-star OT Aliou Bah
  • 3-star OT Jacob Hood
  • 3-star DL Shone Washington
  • 3-star OG Griffin Scroggs
  • 3-star P Brett Thorson

This large group is full of guys playing positions that the Dawgs need to quickly get acquainted with because if they’re ready will contribute in 2022.

Among those names, Williams has already gotten pinpointed as someone to watch moving forward. Earlier this week, Williams won the Defensive National High School Player of the Year by the Maxwell Award, making him the No.1 defensive player out of high school.

He is a dominant force and showed it in the All American Bowl. Williams will be the next big name on that Georgia defense, and with this honor, it already puts him on the radar.

Nolan Smith was the last Georgia player to earn this honor, along with Trenton Thompson in 2014.

In his final year of high school, Williams recorded 81 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles. As a junior, he tallied 17 sacks and 19 tackles for loss and, as a sophomore, had 20 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.

This young man knows how to pressure a quarterback, which Georgia loves to have. He is just one of the many names on this early enrollee list that are highly talented players hungry to get started.

Everette is another one Georgia should be excited about getting to Athens early because he is a big-time cornerback the Dawgs could use right away in the lineup. The secondary is still one of the thinnest positions on the team, so any time they can get a big-time corner to come in early benefits them.

All of these names being on campus early gives them a few more months with the playbook, and it’ll allow the staff to see if any of them are ready for significant playing time in the fall. Plus, they will get to be a part of the spring practice period and G-Day.

This 2022 recruiting class is unique and seems beyond ready to work. While the season just wrapped up a couple of weeks ago, it won’t be long till spring practice gets here and we get to see what these 18 young men can do.
