The rumors surrounding Georgia football bringing back Mike Bobo seem to have some traction. Would this be a good or bad decision for head coach Kirby Smart?

Some believe it would hinder the Dawgs because of the offense style he runs, but at the same time, it seems like the role will be an analyst, one similar to when Will Muschamp first came back to Athens.

Bobo may not be the youngest guy in the room, but the guy knows football, and he would be a great addition to have watch film and discuss strategy.

Georgia football needs to make the Mike Bobo hire official.

Even though I’ve been against bringing Bobo back, it was more against him being on the sidelines and involved with the offense. However,  after considering what Bobo brought to Athens before, I’ll admit I’m wrong.

Bobo needs to be on staff. He can recruit, his kid will be on the team, and Georgia could use someone like him to break the film down and find ways to make the Dawgs better.

That role doesn’t mean he will decide the play calls or anything like that, offensive coordinator Todd Monken is the man for that job, but Bobo could still be beneficial.

It isn’t official that Bobo will return to Athens and help out, so we’re speculating on this discussion. Some will want him back because it’s another Georgia alumnus giving back to his team. Others feel he is past his prime and should enjoy retirement.

While I’ll agree that bringing back many alumni because they played at Georgia can help, it isn’t always beneficial. However, those who know Georgia football realize that Muschamp, Smart, and Bobo are all tight and did a lot of recruiting trips together throughout the years.

They are good friends, and Smart would trust him to help the Bulldogs.

Bobo has recently turned down other jobs after Auburn let him go, so maybe coming home to Athens would be his best decision.

It would be interesting to see him in an analyst role and how it would help Georgia’s offense get better. For now, it’s speculation, but we’re all on the train for the return of Bobo.
