Some may not feel like Georgia football’s 34-7 win over Florida is worthy of the No.4 spot in terms of most important victories, but this was a game starting quarterback Stetson Bennett needed to win to gain even more confidence. Only two teams beat him during his time as the starter in 2020, and that was Alabama and Florida.

Bennett’s performance was far from perfect as he threw two interceptions during this game, but he got it together and helped Georgia get their eighth straight win. He finished the game by going 10-of-19 for 161 yards, one touchdown, and two picks. The Dawgs’ rush attack led the way as it usually does in this series, as they recorded 193 yards and two scores.

Zamir White paced the Dawgs with his 14 carries for 105 yards and one touchdown.

That defense again did their job and kept the Gators out of the endzone until late in the game.

Georgia also halted Florida from winning two straight in the series, as history tells us this matchup usually runs in streaks. The Dawgs broke that streak and embarrassed the Gators in Jacksonville, reminding everyone who truly controls the SEC East.

At the right moment last season, the stars aligned for Florida, and they beat Georgia, but the Dawgs had the Worlds’ Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party circled on the calendar to prove a point.

The Dawgs got their revenge against the Gators, made former Florida head coach Dan Mullen look silly regarding recruiting comments, and left Jacksonville with the SEC locked down for good.

This win is worthy of its No.4 ranking because this meeting in Jacksonville usually doesn’t go Georgia’s way when it’s supposed to. Instead, the Dawgs changed the narrative and proved 2021 was going to be the year they overcame it all.

A revenge game against your biggest rival holds a lot of weight, and Georgia handled it the right way. With this victory, the Dawgs’ confidence grew stronger, and their goal became one step closer.
