. . UAB . 12. player. 2369.

The 12th most important win for Georgia football has to be the UAB game where starting quarterback Stetson Bennett let the world know he wasn’t the same quarterback they saw in 2020 and put his name in the record books as the Dawgs won 56-7.

While it was another cupcake game, the Blazers had one of the better defensive fronts that Georgia faced, ranking this matchup over Missouri and Charleston Southern.

Bennett threw for five touchdowns in the first half of the game, including three in the first quarter.

He went 10-of-12 for 288 yards and five scores, putting him in the record books with Aaron Murray’s most touchdowns in one game.

This game showed the fans he had an arm and could get it downfield to his playmakers. While the UAB game was Bennett’s coming-out party, it was also the one where we finally saw just how explosive Brock Bowers was going to be when he outran the entire Blazers’ defense.

He recorded three catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns, including an 89-yard touchdown reception.

Georgia was explosive on offense and did their job on defense, so this game is No. 12 on our list. That performance from Bennett was the start of him winning over the offense and becoming the permanent starter.

After an emotional win over Clemson in Week 2, UAB came out aggressive and ready to challenge the Dawgs. Still, by halftime, the game was over with, and Georgia began getting backups some playing time.
