8. player. 842. . . . Auburn

Georgia football traveled to Auburn, where they had to pass the true road test lesson, and the Dawgs did just that by beating the Tigers 34-10 to move them to 6-0 at that point in the season.

This victory lands at No. 8 on this list because Georgia went into a hostile environment and didn’t let it affect them as the 2017 squad did. Georgia made it a point to prepare for the Jordan-Hare Stadium noise, and instead of influencing them, the Dawgs tuned it out.

Starting quarterback Stetson Bennett handled his business while the defense put Auburn quarterback Bo Nix through serious pain.

Auburn kicked a field goal to lead 3-0, and Georgia matched it to make it 3-3 after one quarter. The Tigers came ready to give the Dawgs a challenge, but it wouldn’t take the team long to push down the throttle and quickly put Auburn in their place.

This game is No.9 because the Tigers made Georgia work for it more than the previous six opponents we already ranked.

Georgia’s offense had a bit of a sluggish start, but Auburn’s defense had a hard time stopping them once they got going. The Dawgs recorded 201 rushing yards, and Bennett showed one of the reasons why coaches liked him so much — his wheels.

He tallied 41 rushing yards on six carries, with most of them resulting in a first down. Bennett used his legs to keep drives going, which was a weapon the Dawgs didn’t have in JT Daniels.

Ladd McConkey had his coming-out party in Auburn as he recorded five catches for 135 yards and one score —  a 60-yard touchdown reception.

Georgia’s defense tallied four sacks, and 29 quarterback hurries as Jalen Carter led the way with eight. The Dawgs held Auburn to 46 rushing yards, and while they gave up a good chunk through the air, Auburn only got into the endzone once.

This game provided a test the team hadn’t faced yet, and they passed it with flying colors. After this victory, the argument of whether the Dawgs could handle a hostile road environment no longer existed.
