Georgia football has a new wide receivers coach in Bryan McClendon as he returns for his second coaching stint in Athens, and the buzz around the interwebs is electric.

From former players, reporters and fans, everyone seems excited about McClendon being on the Dawgs’ staff again.

Some of the best comments have come from former players McClendon brought to Georgia and turned into some of the program’s best players.

There have been some pretty good endorsements from those former Dawgs, and that should tell future recruits and current players who they are getting in McClendon.

Georgia football hired Bryan McClendon back as its receivers coach, and the football greats approve.

Guys he recruited and brought to Georgia and all the way to his former teammates, McClendon has received a warm welcome from the Dawg Nation.

Head coach Kirby Smart nailed this hire and knows what kind of an impact McClendon brings to the program.

To have the endorsement from a guy like Todd Gurley, Keith Mitchell, and the others should tell players that he is someone that is going to have their best interests at heart.

McClendon didn’t necessarily need their endorsement, but they went out of their way to congratulate him and show how excited they were about it.

Even recruits who know him from Oregon and his brief time in Miami are all excited about the move.

There is something special that McClendon brings to the table. He is a young recruiter to connect with the players at whatever level they need him to do. His former Dawgs like his coaching style, and his whole attitude is what Georgia needs in that recruiting room.

Georgia’s wide receiver room hasn’t been terrible, but the Dawgs have missed out on big-time receivers who can spread the offense out, but that won’t be a problem anymore. The coaching staff is clearly taking this decision seriously because McClendon can help evolve the Dawg’s offense to where it needs to go next.
