8. Christopher Smith’s pick-six against Clemson

Georgia football started the season out with a bang as Christopher Smith picked off D.J. Uiagalelei to score the only touchdown in the Week 1 matchup against Clemson.

This play ranks higher than the sack count on the best moment list because it is what won Georgia the game, and without it, there is no telling what might have happened.

In the second quarter, on third and four with three minutes to go before halftime, neither team had scored, and both defenses were battling it out to prove who was better.

Uiagalelei dropped back for a pass, and Smith just robbed the wide receiver and took it 74-yards to the house, giving the Dawgs a 7-0 lead.

Little did anyone know what would be the only time either team would get into the endzone, but for Smith to start his senior year out like that, it was such a noteworthy moment.

Georgia saw their season start with a pick-six and end with one as Kelee Ringo took his 79-yards against Alabama. It’s eerie they both were for 70-plus yards, but it’s also really cool to see the season come full circle as it did for the Dawgs.

Smith set the tone for the whole season, and we all saw what one play could do for a team’s season.
