21. Devonte Wyatt’s blocked field goal against Kentucky

Let’s start this top-moment list off with the Georgia football game against Kentucky. The Dawgs were 6-0 heading into this home game against a confident Wildcat team who just defeated Florida and was looking to end another streak against Georgia.

However, this 2021 Georgia team was far too talented for Kentucky. While the Wildcats gave the Dawgs a solid fight, the home team had far more depth and weapons up their sleeve.

There were quite a few big moments in this game, from Zamir White’s 24-yard touchdown run that put Georgia up 14-0 to the offense responding after a big defensive stop with Brock Bowers’ 27-yard touchdown catch to make it 21-7 — the Dawgs provided plenty of options.

Even though there were a lot of big offensive moments, Georgia’s defense did their part, and there came a moment when they needed a big play to keep Kentucky from gaining any momentum.

The Wildcats had the Dawgs on their heels in the third quarter and marched down to Georgia’s 10-yard line. Instead of scoring, Georgia’s defense built a wall and kept them out of the endzone, so Kentucky lined up for a field goal.

Devonte Wyatt pushed his way through and blocked that field goal to keep it at 27-7 and immediately swing the momentum back Georgia’s way. That play allowed the Dawgs to score again and put the game out of reach.

While many wouldn’t consider this a significant moment or a memorable one, it is because if Kentucky scored, the Dawgs would have given up 16 points instead of 13, which would have moved the scoring defense needle.

That moment reminded Kentucky it wasn’t their time to upset the Dawgs. Georgia moved to 7-0 on the season and in the driver seat to win the SEC East again.
