The third best moment from the 2021 season came during the semifinals against Michigan in the Orange Bowl when it wasn’t starting quarterback Stetson Bennett who threw the touchdown pass to AD Mitchell but Kenny McIntosh.

Georgia needed a creative spark against Michigan, and offensive coordinator Todd Monken crafted the perfect play call. Bennett handed it off to McIntosh, who faked the run before dropping back and delivering a spot-on 18-yard pass to Mitchell, giving the Dawgs a 14-0 lead.

This score shocked the Wolverines even more than the way Georgia came ready to play this game. From the jump, Michigan didn’t look prepared for the Dawgs, and when Mitchell caught this touchdown pass, it was a sign that the Dawgs were going to win it and get another shot at Alabama.

Georgia fans weren’t used to seeing these kinds of trickery plays because the offense is usually pretty traditional, but Monken knew the right moment to pull this out of his hat.

Thankfully it worked but seeing the creativeness was exciting because it’s something all the fans want to see more of moving forward.

This play is one the fans still talk about because it’s so epic.

While Mitchell’s national championship catch was pretty excellent, too, this one came when many Dawg fans weren’t sure if Georiga would get past Michigan.

Still, Georgia did like they had beaten the 12 other opponents at this point in the season, and that was beating the Wolverines by two or more touchdowns.
