Georgia Football: The top 21 moments that made 2021 epic
2. Kelee Ringo’s pick-six that won the national title for Georgia
As Georgia football fans all know, the year started with a pick-six and ended with one as the second-best moment of the season was the one that sealed Georgia’s fate to become national champions.
Kelee Ringo picked off Bryce Young and took it 79-yards to the house. Dan Jackson laid a phenomenal block to make sure he got the score, and that moment became an instant classic.
Dawg Nation knows the “Run Lindsay, Run Lindsay” run play from the 1980 title, but now the Ringo pick-six that extinguished all the demons is right up there among classic Georgia football moments.
This interception came after the Dawgs went up 26-18, and Alabama got the ball back with around 3:33 to go. Usually, the Tide finds a way to march down the field and either tie the game or win it — resulting in heartbreak for Georgia.
However, after the Tide earned two quick first downs, Young dropped back on 3rd and 10 and threw it Ringo’s way. The redshirt freshman jumped up, snagged it, and the rest is history.
Where were you the night Ringo took it to the house against the Heisman Trophy winner? All of Georgia’s fanbase will have a story of this night and how they will remember it forever.
To some, Ringo’s pick-six was the best moment of the 2021 season, but there was one that edged it out by a tiny margin.
