Georgia added the last bit of depth they needed

In December, Georgia football added most of its players on Early Signing Day, but the keys to the February signing period were adding more depth to certain positions.

Georgia added three uncommitted players on National Signing Day, and it was three pieces that gave the Dawgs more depth at places that could always use it.

The Dawgs needed one more running back to give that room a little cushion, so they added 3-star Andrew Paul, who Del McGee convinced why Athens was the perfect spot for him in a couple of weeks.

This addition was huge and the day’s only surprise, but it also proved just how solid McGee is on the recruiting trail. He is the closer, and Georgia is lucky to have him.

Former Georgia pledge Jordan James was the second running back for this class, but the Dawgs found a much better option when he backed off.

When you put Paul and Branson Robinson together as a running back duo, as Georgia has with Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, or Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall, this pair is the next great one.

Paul is a bit of a late bloomer, but his senior film proves he was the right selection. He fits the RBU mold and will shock some people at the next level. Even Gurley gave his seal of approval on Twitter about this young man, so that should tell you exactly what player he is.

Christen Miller is one of the best defensive linemen in this class, and he stuck with the hometown team. The relationship that he and defensive line coach Tray Scott seem to have already is huge.

Georgia could lose Jalen Carter after this upcoming season, so the Dawgs need more monsters on that line, and they got it in this 2022 class. From edge rushers to interior defensive linemen, Scott got all he would need to keep this group with ample depth.

The same could be said with the addition of EJ Lightsey and the linebacker position. Georgia lost some junior linebackers to the draft after the national title run, so it was important to add one more to give the Dawgs the ability to rotate and keep guys fresh.

Georgia nailed their needs for this class, kept the guys they needed to, and finished without any shortcomings.
