Georgia football has a staff full of talented coaches that teams all over the country would love to have. With Auburn’s current football situation going up in flames, there are two assistants the Tigers could target on the Dawgs’ staff.

In the last 24-hours, multiple reports have surfaced about Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin and some alleged events that could cause him to resign.

From players allegedly making accusations to an alleged affair with an assistant, it isn’t looking good for Harsin. ESPN’s Chris Low and  Pete Thamel published a story with Harsin saying he isn’t going anywhere, but it does seem his job is on the line with more issues arising.

So who could replace him at Auburn if Harisn is let go?

Georgia football has a couple of coaches the Tigers could consider, but hopefully they don’t.

The two coaches Auburn could target at Georgia are Will Muschamp and Mike Bobo. Neither is likely to happen, but we can discuss it because both have been a part of Tiger staffs in the past.

Bobo got fired back in November after working with Harsin for one season. While he showed bursts of efficiency with their offense, it wasn’t enough for Harsin to keep him. Auburn still owes him 2.6 million from his three-year contract.

In his one season with the Tigers, the offense averaged 28.31 points, 161.2 rushing, 240.08 passing and 401.3 total yards a game. Those aren’t terrible numbers, the Tigers just struggled to remain consistent. Bobo would have likely kept his job if Auburn found a way to upset Alabama at the of the season, but they didn’t.

He would be a safe choice, but Bobo does have experience as a head coach and knows a lot of the players from being their for a season.

Muschamp was the defensive coordinator from 2006-2007 the first time then came back in 2015. That defense in 2006, allowed just 21 touchdowns and was No.7 in the country in scoring defense. They finished in the top-10 of the four main categories as well.

The 2007 unit led the SEC in scoring defense and was again in the top 10 of the four main categories.

His 2015 squad wasn’t as dominat as those first two were, but still Muschamp has history at this school, and while his last two head coaching jobs didn’t go great, he could get redemption with the Tigers.

Again both of these coaches are not likely to leave, and it’s a long shot to even discuss this, but it’s interesting to talk about what a school could do. Nothing is set in stone with Harsin yet, but Georgia fans should know, none of the coaches should get poached even with these two as options.
