Georgia football: Sony Michel shines brightest in the Super Bowl
Georgia football has more than Matthew Stafford playing in today’s Super Bowl. There is also running back legend Sony Michel, who knows what it feels like to play on this stage.
He was a rookie on the 2019 New England Patriots squad that won it over the Rams. Michel had one heck of a rookie season, scoring six touchdowns, and while he didn’t have a ton of rushing yards, his stats came at key moments.
Now he is on the Rams squad and has another chance to bring his team a Super Bowl. Despite some struggles the last couple of seasons, Michel is on a team with the right coaching for him, and now he can shine.
Georgia football running back Sony Michel has shot at his second ring.
In his first Super Bowl, Michel finished with 18 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown — the only touchdown of that game.
Instead of being cocky about it, Michel was as humble as they come. That humbleness is what will help in today’s game against the Bengals. Whatever amount of carries he gets, Michel will do his best to make plays.
If that first Super Bowl tells the Rams anything it’s that they need to use him in this matchup and let him do what he does best. Remember that run in the Rose Bowl and then the touchdown in his first Super Bowl? Michel lives for these big moments, and now he could have two rings in his first four seasons as an NFL player.
Georgia has four players and a coach participating in the Super Bowl, and Michel has the chance to put himself in the history books if he has a big game tonight. The Rams need him and Stafford to play well along with Leonard Floyd to get to Joe Burrow a few times.
