Georgia Football: 3 quality defensive linemen who must step up
Nazir Stackhouse
Another guy that it’s time to see him get up and contribute consistently or see him fall down the depth chart is Nazir Stackhouse.
He came to Georgia in that 2020 No.1 overall ranked class so he will be a junior this upcoming season. Another 4-star out of high school, this Decatur player was someone people got excited about signing.
Stackhouse hasn’t seen much action since arriving to Georgia. He had to get on a better nutrition program before really getting consistent reps.
In 2020, he played in six of those games, recording three tackles and one quarterback pressure.
This past season he was another guy who came in after the starters, and second-team players needed a rest. Stackhouse saw action in 10 games, recording nine total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and three pressures.
So his stats improved, but I wanted to see more out of him at the same time. Stackhouse has been around a while, and it’s past time to see him step up and be a plug on that defensive line.
He is a big player who could be a great plug for the Dawgs but just doesn’t have that aggressive edge that Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt or Jalen Carter do.
Stackhouse is another that can come into this spring ready to kick some tail and earn significant playing time. If he doesn’t, then a young guy or another defensive lineman will beat him on the depth chart.
There is no reason this guy shouldn’t be pushing people around, and 2022 could be that year we finally see him get mean on the field.
