Five-star wide receiver Carnell Tate

The first name Georgia football has done an excellent job at trending in the right direction with is 5-star wideout Carnell Tate from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

At 6-2 and 185-pounds, he is a tall prospect that could help the Dawgs with the long balls. He is a good receiver and intelligent at that.

According to 247Sports 2023 Composite rankings, Tate is currently the No.21 overall prospect, the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 7 player out of Florida. He holds 37 offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee and Alabama, to name just a few.

When you watch his film, Tate is one of those wideouts that always find a way to get open and create separation. He has a high football IQ and the physical ability to match it. Explosive is one of the best ways to describe this one, and for him to visit Athens is going to be huge.

Right now, the Fighting Irish and Buckeyes are the two teams leading the pack for him, but he announced on Feb. 20 that he would be taking a visit to Georgia on March 25-27th.

This visit is huge for the Dawgs. Passing game coordinator and receivers coach Bryan McClendon is a big reason for this, which is why the Dawgs brought him home. If he can get Tate to consider Georgia, it’s a step in the right direction. Georgia is notoriously a run-first offense, but the Dawgs have worked on shifting that some.

With McClendon on staff, passing will become more of a priority, which means guys like Tate will be interested.
