Georgia football: Three 2023 recruits trending in the right direction
Four-star safety Michael Daugherty
The last name on this list is another Peach state prospect, 4-star safety Michael Daugherty out of Grayson High School. He is a big-sized safety that will be a big-time secondary player in college once he grows into his frame more.
According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is the No. 159 overall prospect, the No. 13 safety, and the No.16 player out of Georgia.
He holds 38 offers, including Tennessee, Mississippi State, LSU, Georgia, and many others.
It’s anyone’s game right now for this 4-star, but if the Dawgs could get him on campus, this is someone Fran Brown, Georgia’s newly hired defensive backs coach, needs to keep an eye out for this offseason and into the football season.
Daugherty is an aggressive safety that has great awareness. He likes Georgia as the hometown school, but the Dawgs need to keep their eye on him. This year, Daugherty could blow up even more with a good camp season and senior year at Greyson.
He is a little skinny at 6-1 and 180-pounds, but with the right program, he could turn that into muscle and be an animal in someone’s secondary. Keep an eye out on him, as he will be someone to visit Athens this spring.
Georgia has so much going on with the 2023 recruiting cycle that things could change by the day, but these three guys are trending toward the Dawgs or at least heading in that direction. The 2023 class will be a big one for Georgia as there is so much talent in this cycle that they will have to be on their A-game at all times.
