Georgia football could make school history in the 2022 NFL Draft with 15 players’ potential to get selected. One of those guys is inside linebacker Quay Walker, who may not get taken in the first round, but could be a solid third to fifth-round pick.

Walker needs to have a strong week at the NFL Combine to help increase his draft stock. While he is one of the more talented linebackers, there are a lot of good players in this draft, so he may not go as high.

As a two-year starter, he did a lot of work and impressed plenty. It felt like Walker was everywhere you needed him to be, but there were also times that the other playmakers overshadowed him.

Georgia football will see Quay Walker go in the mid-rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Walker signed with Georgia after a long commitment with Alabama and has been someone inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann put his mark on development-wise.

A member of the No.1 ranked 2018 recruiting cycle —  Walker was a four-star linebacker ranked on 247Sports Composite Rankings as the No. 31 overall, No.2 linebacker, and No. 6 player out of Georgia.

The two-year starter saw his best season during the 2021 national championship run. Walker recorded 67 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 24 quarterback hurries, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups.

During his four years at Georiga, he finished his career with 139 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks, three pass deflections and a fumble recovery.

Walker didn’t have astronomical stats during his time at Georgia, but he was a hard worker. He is a little large for an inside linebacker so Walker could play morphe into an edge rusher at the next level.

However, he may stay at linebacker and become someone who can use his size to cause problems.

Walker has impressive play strength that makes him better than most other linebackers. He is a solid athlete that is explosive and twitchy. His speed should also impress scouts, along with his strong tackling ability.

Where does Quay Walker land in the 2022 NFL Draft?

If he has a strong NFL Combine performance, Walker could land in the lower second to the upper third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

However, he could also drop to the middle of the fifth round. He genuinely needs to impress some scouts this week or at the Georgia Pro Day to land where I projected him to, but it isn’t impossible.

Some NFL team will take a risk on him because of that aggressive playmaking ability that he has. We could see him land in Denver, Buffalo, Philadelphia, or Cleveland.

Georgia football will see double-digit players drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, breaking a school record and showing the Dawgs know how to develop talent.
