Georgia football signed one of the best secondary groups in their 2022 recruiting class, and among those guys, Jaheim Singletary is a corner who could see playing time as a freshman.

According to 247Sports Composite team rankings, the Dawgs finished the 2022 recruiting cycle as the No. 3 class with 29 signees, including 18 early enrollees.

Singletary isn’t one of those already on campus, but he has the talent to impress right away if he can quickly pick up the playbook. Arriving in the summer will give him plenty of time to work his way up the depth chart and pressure some of these other defensive backs.

Georgia football could see Jaheim Singletary on the field in 2022.

At 6-2 and 170-pounds, the Jacksonville native has the height to be a great corner but needs to add some weight to that frame. Singletary uses that length to his advantage, and he has the speed to cover large areas. He has an aggressive touch and is learning how to channel that to his advantage.

Singletary isn’t afraid to fight for a ball with the receiver but knows how to keep it clean. His tackling abilities are strong, and he isn’t afraid to step up and make a play.

However, his size is most exciting because he has the height to go up against bigger receivers, and once Georgia adds some weight on him, he will be an absolute monster.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Singletary came out of high school as the No. 27 overall player, the No. 5 cornerback and the No. 5 player out of Florida.

Singletary was initially committed to Ohio State, but the Dawgs were able to close the deal and get him to Athens. Head coach Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp and former defensive back coach Jahmile Addae targeted him for a reason, and after watching his film, it’s understandable.

With the right development, Singletary is a future first-round draft pick. Georgia got a special player in this youngster, and this summer, his name will stand out because he will make noise.

He won’t start right now, but between him and Daylen Everette, these two will put a lot of pressure on their teammates.

Georgia may save him if he doesn’t come along right away, but he is too talented to keep on the bench. If he shines, it wouldn’t surprise us if Singletary earned his way onto the field.
