4: 2013 Georgia football OT win over Tennessee

The next road victory on this list came when Georgia football traveled to Knoxville and beat the Vols 34-31 by an overtime field goal from Marshall Morgan.

Both teams were in a shoot-out with the Vols as neither defense could stop the opposing offense. This victory wasn’t pretty, but it was one of those games that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Starting quarterback Aaron Murray went 19-of-35 for 196 yards and three touchdowns, and JJ Green led the team with 17 carries for 129 yards.

Murray connected with Rantavious Wooten for the second time with five seconds to go, and the game went into overtime.

This win is epic because, during this portion of Mark Richt’s career, these kinds of road games didn’t always go the Dawgs’ way, so getting the stop when it mattered and making the game-winning field goal was important for morale at the time.

That game-winner wasn’t a short one either. Morgan kicked a 42-yarder to give the Dawgs a 34-31 victory and move to 4-1. Georgia shouldn’t have ever let a 3-3 Tennessee team stick around as they did this night, but mistakes will give mediocre teams the ability to.

Regardless, Georgia got a win on the road that gave them a lot of confidence moving forward.
