2. The 2018 Georgia football Rose Bowl playoff win

Two overtimes and the best Rose Bowl game in its history sit at No.2 on this list as Georgia football beat Oklahoma 54-48 to advance to their first national championship in decades.

After an incredible win over Auburn in the SEC Championship Game, Georgia made its first playoff berth ranked No. 3. They would take on No.2 Oklahoma in the historic Rose Bowl out in Pasadena, and no one could have predicted this epic matchup.

This game went back and forth all night long, with the Dawgs making big plays and the Sooners responding. Georgia’s defense came up big at times, but Baker Mayfield made some massive plays for this team.

However, the Dawgs weren’t going back to Athens disappointed, and after trailing 31-17 at halftime, they outscored Oklahoma 28 to 14, which forced overtime. What an epic comeback for the Dawgs, and one that’ll live on for many years to come.

This game was so emotional and featured so many great moments, but the win wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for Sony Michel. He had 11 carries for 181 yards and three scores. His is 75-yard touchdown run in the second quarter kept the Dawgs within one score.

His counterpart Nick Chubb recorded a 50-yard touchdown run to start the third quarter, and Michel tallied a 38-yard score to tie it 31-31.

It was a gauntlet between two of the best college football teams that year, and it was truly incredible. However, that blocked kick during the second overtime period when everyone thought it was over was the biggest momentum switch ever.

Georgia handed it off to Michel, and 27-yards later, the Dawgs were Rose Bowl champions. The celebration was epic, and at that moment, Dawg fans knew this Kirby Smart era was going to be special.

Granted, it didn’t end as we wanted it to that season, but this victory and then the loss provided the lesson Smart needed to learn moving forward with his teams.

That heartbreak paid off eventually, which brings us to the No. 1 win on this list.
