1. Georgia football wins 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship

The least surprising win on this list has to be the 2022 National Championship game that ended a 41-year drought for the Georgia football program. There is no argument that this game should rank No.1 on this list because it was the one that finally got the Dawgs over the hump.

Georgia beat Alabama 33-18, outsourcing the Tide 20-9 in the fourth quarter to win it all. It was a defensive battle for the first three-quarters of the game with a few big plays, but when starting quarterback Stetson Bennett coughed up the football and the Tide scored, something switched for the Dawgs.

Bennett wouldn’t miss a pass for the rest of the game, and to seal it in epic fashion, Kelee Ringo made an incredible pick-six grab and ran it back 79 yards to add the final nail into Alabama’s coffin.

Freshmen all over the field came up big for Georgia as AD Mitchell caught a 40-yard pass for the first score of the fourth quarter. Brock Bowers caught a 15-yard pass for the second score, and well, Ringo is a redshirt freshman that made a veteran play.

It wasn’t pretty, but the last few minutes of the ballgame were picture perfect. Georgia hunkered down one more time on defense, and the offense handled its business.

What a time to be alive and call yourself a national champion; how sweet is it that Alabama was the team Georgia beat to win it all — it was the only way it could happen.

This game trumps all the other neutral-site wins because it was for all the marbles and the biggest trophy in college football. Georgia is your defending national champions, and it all happened because of a generational defense and a former walk-on quarterback that made the biggest plays of his career.

There are other great neutral-site victories, but until Georgia wins another national championship, none will beat out the night that Alabama fell in Indianapolis.
