Before deep-diving into the Georgia football NFL Combine results, we must first make a bold prediction for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Fifteen guys could get drafted in April, but 14 of them will realistically. The 14 who participated in the NFL Combine will find a new home at the end of April and break the school record for most players drafted in an individual year.
Georgia could see five go in the first round alone if the cards fall as they should. The Dawgs have a great draft class, and it isn’t too bold to say the best individual group in school history.
There have been some great years, including seeing Matthew Stafford going No.1 overall, but the 2022 NFL Draft will be about all 14 guys and not just an individual player.
Georgia football will break a couple of school records for the 2022 NFL Draft.
What the Dawgs did in Indy proved that this 2021 defense was generational, and the few offense and special teams weapons were also elite. Everyone with a ‘G’ beside their name showed out and outshined the rest of the players in their position groups.
Georgia saw their guys make a ton of money, and most of them left with dollar signs in their eyes as they knew they would have excellent contracts to sign come draft day.
Before this season, last year’s nine marked the most taken in one NFL Draft since the league implemented a seven-round draft.
Georgia could break that record by five this year, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise at all. This large draft class is what the expectations have been at for years. The Dawgs just have never had the kind of development skills that they do right now.
Head coach Kirby Smart has a great staff surrounding him that proves they are just as elite developing players as they are recruiting them.
Georgia is hitting a new level this offseason, and it started with the national championship. Now they will make history in the NFL Draft, proving that the year of the Dawg could turn into multiple years and eventually into a dynasty.
