Georgia football: JT Daniels appears down to three teams
Georgia football brought JT Daniels in to help out with the offense, and due to injuries keeping him off the field, it didn’t quite work out.
While he has to graduate before transferring, the quarterback is still on the hunt for his next team. The rumors and reports suggest that it’s down to a Big12, Pac-12 and SEC East school.
Missouri, Oregon State, and West Virginia are the three schools he is eying.
Georgia football quarterback JT Daniels seems focused on three schools.
ESPN senior writer Pete Thamel tweeted on Thursday that a source told him Daniels would visit Oregon State.
He mentioned the other schools as well, but it seems the Beavers are first on the list right now.
After getting hurt, Daniels came to Georgia from USC and lost his starting job there. Once he got clearance to play, he took Stetson Bennett’s job in 2020 for the season’s final four games.
He went 80-of-119 for 1,231 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions during his first four games at Georgia. Daniels completed 67% of his passes and 10.3 yards a pass.
The way he took command of the offense, he appeared to bring a new look to the Dawgs’ usually traditional offense.
Especially at the Peach Bowl, he went 26-of-38 for 392 yards and one score. He led the team to three fourth-quarter scoring drives that game, and fans immediately got excited about him.
Daniels started the Clemson game this year and two other games, but another injury kept him off the field, and when he got cleared, Bennett had already won over the offense. He did see action in six games as he went 68-of-94 for 722 yards, seven scores, three interceptions and completed 72% of his passes.
This young man has fought through so much adversity with injuries that it’s time for him to have some good luck finally.
Oregon State would be one of the best fits for Daniels because of the offense they run and with him being a west coast kid, he would be closer to home. However, it would also be fun to see him light it up on the Mountaineers’ offense. West Virginia loves to spread it out and with him having the talent he does, it would make a great fit.
Missouri is an exciting option because it’s an SEC East school, but at the same time, why not go up there and ball out for one season. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz likes to air it out, and he picked up one of the better receivers in the 2022 recruiting class so that it could be a good pull. While it isn’t sure that the Tigers will take a quarterback from the portal, maybe they will if it’s Daniels.
Georgia football has its quarterback and a loaded room, so it’s understandable why Daniels decided to transfer again. Right now, though, we like the rumors because all three of these schools would benefit greatly by getting him.
